Two men have been seriously injured in an assault in Co Cork.
The incident happened in Dunmanway shortly after 7pm on Saturday.
The men, in their 30s, were taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.
Two more men, in their 30s and 70s, were arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in the south of the country.
The scene of the incident was preserved for a technical examination.
A Garda spokeswoman said investigations were continuing.
