A 29-year-old Pickering man has been charged with several sex offences following an investigation into a series of alleged sexual assaults and indecent acts at a pharmacy in Pickering.

Durham Regional Police said a man entered the Rexall Pharmacy at 1822 Whites Rd. on Thursday, July 25 at about 6:50 p.m.

Police allege that the accused exposed his genitals and masturbated while an employee had their back turned. The accused then allegedly tried to take a picture/video underneath a second alleged victim’s dress using his cellphone, police said.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, police said the accused was found and taken into custody without incident.

Chevaun Hakim Jones is charged with two counts each of sexual assault, secretly record person for sexual person, and indecent act in public place.

Police said they believe there may be further victims.

MAN ACCUSED OF SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN YORK REGION

A man is sought in connection with alleged sexual assaults on public transit buses in York Region earlier this month.

York Regional Police said an alleged victim was on a public transit bus in Vaughan on Friday, Aug. 2 when the accused allegedly sexually assaulted them by “touching them for a sexual purpose.”

Police said another alleged victim was on a public transit bus on Wednesday, Aug. 7 in Newmarket when the same accused allegedly touched them for a sexual purpose.

Investigators have released images of the accused to appeal for public help to identify him.

The accused is described as having light brown skin, a thin build, being 5-foot-5, 30-40 years old and having long eyelashes. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black mask, a beige, long-sleeved button-up shirt, black pants, black shoes and carrying a nylon duffle bag.

MAN CHARGED WITH SUSPECTED HATE-MOTIVATED ASSAULT

A 65-year-old Toronto man has been charged in a suspected hate-motivated assault investigation.

Toronto Police said officers were called for an alleged hate crime in the Queen St. E.-Maclean Ave. area on Aug. 8.

Police said the accused became involved in a verbal altercation with the alleged victim inside of a restaurant and the accused allegedly made racial slurs toward the alleged victim before assaulting him with an object and fleeing the area.

On Tuesday, police arrested John Evely. An additional outstanding warrant was also executed for an unrelated incident. He was charged with assault with a weapon, and assault.
