A woman aged in her 20s has died in a three-vehicle collision on the dual carriageway in Co Wexford.

The fatal crash involving a truck, van and car occurred on the N25 at Barntown at around 6.30am on Tuesday.

The woman, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body has been taken to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination.

The driver of the van, a man aged in his 40s, has been taken to Wexford General Hospital for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Emergency services have attended the scene, which has been closed pending a technical examination by forensic investigators.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward, particularly those with dash-cam footage.
