Police have released images of five people wanted in connection with the ongoing probe into serious public order which has taken place in NI over the past week.

Detectives “would like to speak with” these five individuals in connection with the investigation into a number of incidents and attacks on officers since last Saturday, August 3.

It comes after Chief Constable Jon Boutcher issued a warning to all those who have been involved in “despicable scenes” of violence which have left 20 officers injured.

He vowed to continue to release images of anyone being sought in connection to riots as he delivered a message to “the minority who think they can get away with violent hatred” of any kind.

“You can’t, you won’t and we are coming after you,” he warned.

The top policeman also appealed to everyone across all communities here to “continue to publicly and loudly condemn this behaviour”.

“Stand with us in saying, this is not ok and it must stop,” he pleaded.

“These people should not be louder than us.

“We will not allow hatred and mindless violence win.

A policewoman who sustained severe facial injuries and a policeman who suffered a broken leg are among the officers who have been wounded.

Mr Boutcher promised to keep making arrests as he confirmed half the injuries inflicted upon officers occurred in Derry on Saturday night.

He said a number of incidents have resulted in officers being hospitalised as he praised the “incredible men and women” who put their lives on the line.
