Prince William and Princess Kate have released a new video congratulating Team GB on their success at the Paris Olympics.

The Prince and Princess of Wales posted the footage of themselves – alongside celebrities including Snoop Dogg and David Beckham – speaking out on their pride watching the GB athletes, whom they labelled an “inspiration”.

And royal fans were quick to spot one novel part of the Waleses’ look: Prince William’s new beard.

With the Olympics formally coming to an end today, the royal couple posted the congratulatory message with just under an hour until tonight’s closing ceremony, which kicks off at 8pm UK time.

In the video, William and Kate said: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB. Well done on all you’ve achieved – you’ve been an inspiration to us all.”

Then, a selection of star-studded names from the world of sports, entertainment and more joined in to praise Britain’s athletes, who finished the Games with 65 medals – 14 of which were gold.

David Beckham, Rebecca Adlington and Gabby Logan led the tributes, with the sporting and broadcasting trio lauding Team GB’s “fantastic” and “amazing” performances throughout Paris 2024.

Greg James, Jessica Ennis-Hill, Sir Chris Hoy, Dame Kelly Holmes, Clare Balding and many more joined in the tributes, before Californian Snoop Dogg finished off the video – a fitting nod to Los Angeles hosting the Games in 2028.

As the video came to a close, Snoop said: “Thank you, Great Britain, on behalf of big Snoop Dogg, the prince and his lovely wife.”
