Taking a Big Spin has led to big money for not one but two St. Catharines residents.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming said the city had two recent $150,000 winners of the Big Spin Instant game.

Agnes Lang has been playing the lottery for about 15 years and told OLG she is a daily player who loves instant tickets.

“I went to the gas station to check my ticket and redeem my Spin prize,” the retiree said.

“I was talking with the store clerk as the wheel was spinning. I wasn’t paying attention until I saw the wheel stop on The Big Win. I froze, thinking to myself, ‘This isn’t happening!’ I was shaking as I went behind the counter to give the store owner a big hug. We shared a beautiful moment.”

Lang walked home and was excited to share the news of her win.

“The first person I called was my daughter,” she said.

“She kept saying, ‘Yeah right, mom. No way!’ When I told my partner, he didn’t believe me at first either, but was very happy for me.”

Lang plans to take a well-deserved family vacation thanks to the ticket bought at an Avondale Food Stores on Carlton St.

As for Alexander Mirc, the automotive industry worker said he was on the job when he scanned his ticket via the OLG app and uncovered a Spin prize.

“I then went to the store to validate my ticket,” the 27-year-old told OLG.

“The wheel was spinning after the store clerk scanned my ticket and I watched it land on $150,000. I was in shock for about 30 seconds!”

Mirc was filled with astonishment as he anxiously awaited a call from OLG.

“My legs were shaking. Even the store clerk was shaking!”

Then it was time to share the news with his family.

“My brother asked, ‘Did Alexander really win $150,000?’ It was a beautiful moment we shared.”

With his windfall, Alexander plans to invest and organize a trip. “Winning feels fantastic. It’s a great feeling to have.”

He bought his ticket at a Circle K on Lake St.
