A woman from Northern Ireland was won £1m on The National Lottery.

The lucky winner is from the Antrim area.

They matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball in the Lotto draw on Wednesday July 17.

She plans to use her winnings to buy a new car and new house.

The Antrim local, known as Mrs K and whose full name has been withheld at her request, played a personal selection of sentimental numbers on the National Lottery app.

Interactive winners have the opportunity to release their name, remain anonymous or, like this winner, release some details through partial publicity.

Andy Carter from The National Lottery, said: “What fantastic news for Mrs K who has become a millionaire overnight.

“She can now look forward to treating herself to a new car and a new house with her winnings. Huge congratulations.”

The National Lottery has awarded over £94 billion in prizes and created more than 7,200 millionaires or multi-millionaires since its launch in 1994.
