Tension is building in north Belfast after a car was rammed into a business.

The vehicle was driven into business premises on Woodvale Road on Tuesday night before

It’s understood a number of homes have also come under attack amid reports of masked men in the area.

A police helicopter has also been circling the scene and there is a police presence on the ground.

Crowds have gathered in the streets and it’s understood that local bus services have been suspended.

BBC presenter Stephen Nolan said Rea Estates was targeted hours after the owner recorded an interview for The Nolan Show which is set to air on Radio Ulster on Wednesday morning.

“I understand people were in the building at the time,” he posted on X. .

“4 masked men got out of the car .

“There has been misinformation about the business circulating on Twitter .

“The owner of the business had this morning recorded an interview with me, due to be broadcast tomorrow – talking about his fear of being attacked because of lies on Twitter.

“It has now come true”.

The PSNI has been contacted for comment.
