A 33-year-woman has been charged with attempted murder and a number of driving offences following a crash between Belfast and Bangor on Sunday.

Police said the woman has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous driving, driving whilst unfit and possession of a Class A controlled drug.

They said she is due to appear at Downpatrick Magistrates Court later today.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

On Sunday the Old Belfast Road was closed for a time as police attended the scene of a crash.
