Someone who bought a lottery ticket last year in Toronto is a millionaire — they just don’t know it yet.

The winning ticket, worth $2.5 million, was sold in the city for the Aug. 16, 2023 Lotto 6/49 draw and has yet to be claimed. A peek at the calendar shows the ticket holder has two weeks left for the ticket to be verified a winner.

While the precise location of where the ticket was sold cannot be revealed, the winning numbers for the grand prize were 2, 3, 6, 7, 17 and 27.

That said, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation does have all the information about that winning ticket, from where it was sold, what time it was sold, what else the buyer purchased with their ticket and the history of the ticket, Tony Bitonti, OLG’s director of communications, previously told the Toronto Sun.

But the specifics of who actually bought the winning ticket remains a mystery.

Even with the numbers listed above, why not check your tickets anyway, just to be sure, by visiting a lottery retail location, using the self-serve ticket checker, hand it to a retailer to check or check the OLG website.

Players must match all six numbers to win the jackpot and have one year from the draw date to claim their prize before it expires.

If you believe you have the winning ticket, or perhaps lost it, please be prepared to provide specific details including where and when your ticket was purchased when calling OLG Customer Care at 1-800-387-0098.
