Three Toronto men face numerous charges, including two for breach of probation, in connection with a carjacking in Markham this week.

York Regional Police say, on Tuesday around 3:45 p.m., they responded to an alleged carjacking in the parking lot of a mall in the area of McCowan Rd. and Hwy. 7.

Police say the victim was loading items into their vehicle when they were approached by two male suspects who were dropped off by a third suspect driving a white Nissan Rogue sport utility vehicle.

It’s alleged the suspects demanded the keys and fled in the victim’s white Mercedes G-Wagon SUV.

Cops say the victim did not sustain any injuries during the confrontation.

According to police, the York Regional Police helicopter, Air2, was able to locate the victim’s vehicle in a Vaughan plaza in the area of Dufferin St. and Clark Ave.

Police say officers observed two men hiding in a nearby wooded area and were taken into custody while the victim’s vehicle was recovered.

On Wednesday, a third suspect, believed to be operating the Nissan SUV at the time of the offence, was taken into custody in Toronto, police say. The vehicle was recovered and cops determined it had been stolen from York Region.
