This time of year, every year, is linked to the Toronto Caribbean Carnival and it’s no different now.

Get ready to jump up, get out there and take in everything the city has to offer.

Here’s what you need to know to make the necessary plans.

Toronto Caribbean Carnival Grande Parade

Experience the vibrancy, the elaborate costumes, lively soca music and energetic masqueraders while taking in the mas band competition during what is arguably the parade of all parades in the city.

Check out the sizzling event that captures the true spirit and culture of the Caribbean.

The parade runs on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., starting at Exhibition Place grounds.

Toronto Diversity Festival

This event brings together communities and show appreciation for the city, which is home to a vibrant mosaic of cultures.

Celebrate Toronto’s rich cultural tapestry at Yonge-Dundas Square on Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Island Soul Festival

Enjoy this showcase of the rich history, cultures, influences and creativity of generations of Caribbeans by celebrating through music, art, comedy, film, crafts, activities and incredible food, all in honour of Emancipation Day.

Head down to the Harbourfront Centre on Thursday from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Friday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. and Monday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Dance @the Square

Big Gay Out at Hanlan’s Point

It’s time to recognize Hanlan’s Point, a meeting and gathering place for the city’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community for more than a century, as the oldest surviving queer space in Canada, not to mention being synonymous with picnics.

So it’s pretty perfect that visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch, enjoy a drag performance, take in the informative displays and participate in activities.

Toronto Food Truck Festival

Aside from the obvious (um, the delicious grub), there’s also live entertainment from some of Toronto’s best local talent, eating challenges and children’s games.

Get ready for a mouthwatering good time at Woodbine Park on Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Danforth Comedy Festival

Enjoy this spectacular showcase of Canada’s comedy diversity that makes for the perfect date night, evening out with pals and family, though note much of the subject matter is R-rated.

Laugh you’re tail off at multiple venues on Danforth Ave. including SoCap Comedy Theatre, Comedy Bar Danforth, The Groove Bar, and The Don on the Danforth.
