Mohamed Ali, 28, of Toronto, has been charged with five counts of robbery and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime in connection with a carjacking probe.

Toronto Police said that on Tuesday at about 6:40 a.m., they responded to a suspicious incident call in the Weston Rd.-Lawrence Ave. W. area.

A lone male suspect approached a taxi and asked for a ride. When the victim said the cab wasn’t available, the suspect allegedly said he had a firearm and demanded the vehicle. The victim exited the vehicle and fled with the keys, leaving the suspect empty-handed.

On the same day around 8:03 a.m., police responded to a threatening call in the Dundas St. W.-Bloor St. W. area.

The same suspect attended a car rental business and requested a vehicle, but was told there were no vehicles available. The suspect allegedly indicated he had a firearm and threatened the victim, who was able to flee.

The suspect immediately attended a nearby car rental business, approached a victim working in a vehicle and allegedly indicated he had a firearm and made a demand for the vehicle before leaving empty-handed. He then allegedly approached a victim sitting in their vehicle in a nearby parking lot, indicated he had a firearm and made a demand for the vehicle and fled the area in the victim’s vehicle

Around 12:30 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle theft in the Wilson Ave.-Keele St. area. The victim was standing near their vehicle when the same male suspect allegedly approached, entered the victim’s vehicle and tried to drive away, indicated he had a firearm and threatening the victim before fleeing with the vehicle.

Both vehicles were recovered and items of evidentiary value were allegedly seized.

TEENS CHARGED IN WESTON CARJACKING

Toronto Police have arrested two people after a Feb. 23 carjacking in the Weston Rd.-Lawrence Ave. W. area.

Police, who responded to a robbery call around 10:04 p.m., alleged two victims were travelling in their vehicle when they stopped in a parking lot. Three male suspects approached and entered the vehicle.

Cops said one suspect allegedly produced a firearm and demanded that the victims exit the vehicle. They complied and the suspects fled in the vehicle.

Two of the suspects were identified and on Tuesday one was taken into custody and three search warrants were executed. The other suspect was already in custody on an unrelated matter.

A 16-year-old Toronto boy was charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime and failing to comply with a probation order.

A second 16-year-old Toronto boy was charged with robbery with a firearm and possession of property obtained by crime.

There was no description available for the outstanding suspect. The stolen vehicle has been recovered.

MAN, 22, ACCUSED OF DOWNTOWN THEFTS

Toronto Police have arrested a 22-year-old man previously wanted for 13 counts of theft under $5,000.

Police said there were multiple thefts between June 20 and July 19 at three different retailers in the Yonge St.-Dundas St. W. area.

A suspect allegedly attended these outlets on 13 occasions over 12 different days and took merchandise estimated to be worth about $25,000.

Muhye Alzghoul was arrested and charged on Saturday.

HARASSMENT CHARGES IN HAMILTON

Hamilton Police have charged a 23-year-old male with criminal harassment after an incident involving two female teens in the area of Woodlands Park on Sunday.

Cops said that at about 6 p.m., a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl were allegedly approached by the male driver of a white vehicle who pulled up alongside them, attempted to engage in conversation and asked them to get in his car.

The youth took note of the licence plate and called 911. Police arrested a suspect a short time later and charged him with two counts of criminal harassment.

TORONTO MAN, 54, FACING CHILD PORN CHARGES

A 54-year-old Toronto man is facing child pornography charges following a police investigation.

Toronto Police said that on June 13, a search warrant was executed by the sex crimes and internet child exploitation unit in the Broadview-Danforth Aves. area.

Police alleged that a user uploaded a quantity of child pornography onto the internet. A quantity of child pornography was located on devices seized during the execution of the search warrant.

Ian Charles MacDonald was arrested and charged with possessing child pornography and accessing child pornography.

MAN CRITICALLY INJURED IN DOWNTOWN STABBING

A man in his 20s was rushed to a hospital Wednesday afternoon after being stabbed in the downtown core.

Toronto Police said in a social media update they received reports of a male stabbed in the Yonge-Dundas Sts. area at about 4:40 p.m.

Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and found the victim with stab wounds.

Cops said a 28-year-old man was arrested.

THREE SOUGHT FOR BREAK AND ENTER

Toronto Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying three male suspects following a break-and-enter at a commercial building in North York over the weekend.

Police said that on Sunday at about 2:45 a.m., officers responded to a call for a break-and-enter in the Don Mills Rd.-Eglinton Ave. E. area.

Three suspects arrived at a commercial building and allegedly proceeded to break in. After gaining entry, the suspects canvassed the building, police said, then fled in an unknown direction.

The first suspect was wearing glasses, a black baseball hat, a white Under Armour-branded T-shirt, a black mask and black pants.

The second suspect had long black hair and was wearing a white T-shirt, black pants, a black mask and blue shoes.

The third suspect also had long black hair and was wearing a grey T-shirt, black pants and a dark-coloured face mask.
