Hockey Québec announced Tuesday that it was expelling the administrators of Hockey Québec Région Montréal as members of the provincial federation after a breach of trust.

The decision is effective immediately.

The organization said the City of Montreal informed it of the breach of trust with municipal authorities the day before, recommending the termination of the agreement between the two parties.

Hockey Québec made the decision in accordance with its general bylaws, which allow for the expulsion or suspension of any member whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the interests or reputation of the federation.

The organization added that its leaders are working with the City of Montreal to ensure activities can take place during the upcoming minor hockey season. Local associations will soon be invited to an information meeting.
