A 28-year-old man was allegedly nabbed with a gun after taking a friend’s vehicle without permission in Ajax.

Durham Regional Police say officers were dispatched to a residence in Ajax after receiving the report about the vehicle around 2:40 a.m. on Thursday.

“A female and male were involved in a verbal disagreement resulting in the male taking the female’s vehicle,” Const. Nicholas Gluckstein alleged in a statement released by cops. “The vehicle was tracked to a location in Toronto where officers located it in a plaza parking lot.”

He said the man who allegedly took the vehicle was found sleeping in the driver’s seat.

“As the male was searching for his ID, police observed a handgun in his bag,” Gluckstein alleged, explaining the man was taken into custody “without incident.”
