Sue Radford has been branded “privileged” by disgruntled fans after she shared a clip of a recent “heartbreak” she experienced in the most recent episode of Channel 5’s 22 Kids and Counting.

The mother-of-22 became upset during the latest episode, which aired on Sunday, after finding out a countryside home she had fallen in love with was being taken off the market.

The Channel 5 star and her husband Noel had planned to up sticks from their Morecambe home and relocate to the country for a quieter way of life but things weren’t meant to be.

Sue, 49, shared a clip on her Instagram of her daughter comforting her after she’d received the bad news, captioning the post: “Sometimes all you need is a long walk with family #Radfords #Walk #Family.”

During the episode, Sue and her other half, 53, excitedly talked about moving to a new house in the countryside.

“Even from being quite young, I’ve always wanted to live in the country,” Sue beamed. “It will be amazing for the kids. It is everything that we want.”

However, the family’s dream came crashing down as some unexpected news was delivered to Noel in the form of a phone call.

Noel was driving when he answered a call from his estate agent, who explained: “The sellers have just been in touch this morning and there’s been a development. This is never an easy call to make.

“Unfortunately, it seems that their own house purchase has fallen through, so the chain has collapsed and that means that they’ve taken theirs off the market.”

Holding back tears, Noel was visibly choked up and could only respond: “OK,” before ending the call.

“I’m really p****d off,” he admitted to the cameras. “We had our heart set on that house. The kids have all seen it, they’re really excited about it.”

“Sue will be absolutely gutted,” he went on to add before returning home and breaking the news to Sue, 49, who was understandably crushed by the update.

Sue remarked: “We were really gutted we’re not going to get that country life. It has been quite difficult.”

Later, in a scene Sue shared on Instagram, her daughter Chloe asked her mother if she wanted to go for a walk to talk about the setback, and assured her that her youngest siblings could still enjoy “the perfect childhood” in their Morecambe home.

However, the post wasn’t met with a warm response as it prompted some followers to accuse Sue of exaggerating the extent of the problem she faced.

In the comments section, one penned: “You are so blessed in life with everything you have and do.. be more grateful. You have a home.. another one you like will come along when the time is right.”

A second similarly hit out: “Just appreciate what you have. You have a healthy family that’s all that matters. Have gratitude. It’s not the end of the world. It wasn’t meant to be. There will be other country homes out there.”

“What a first world problem to have!” another hit out before a fourth echoed: “No one died!! Get a life!!”

The criticism kept on coming as a fifth weighed in: “Heartbreaking? I can think of much worse things that are heartbreaking!”

And a sixth fan reflected on their own circumstances: “I’m currently homeless about to be put into a hotel with my 2 children and animals please count yourselves lucky that you have a roof over your heads rather than see the negative that you don’t get your fancy house x.”

However, the Radfords were fiercely defended by other loyal fans, with one hitting back at critics to say: “I never ever comment on anything like this but I’m sick of seeing negative just because they share their lives on tv. They are only human, everyone gets their heart set on stuff and gets disappointed, but one thing’s for sure they are greatful of their kids and adore them, they put absolutely everything into them kids and so what if sue and Noel want a better future for their kids, you have one life so live it xxx.”

And another threw their support behind Sue: “Oh Sue, it’s awful when you have your heart set on something; you start planning and then the rugs pulled from under your feet for no fault of your own. I feel for you.” (sic)
