A Florida doctor has shared advice for aspiring assassins of American presidents in a social media post met with disgust and shock.

Dr. Michael Allen, a Pensacola podiatrist, recently wrote on Facebook his thoughts about having the courage to kill U.S. leaders following the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump last weekend in Pennsylvania.

“This event (the assassination attempt) highlights the importance of target practice,” Allen wrote, according to a screenshot of the post shared to X by Libs of TikTok.

“Opportunities for shots from 200 yards and in are going to be non-existent now for Trump and (Joe) Biden. I get it. Buck fever happens. You get nervous. So, if I could offer any advice going forward it would be to take a clonazepam about 20 minutes before the intended action. It will calm the nerves.”

Clonazepam is used to treat epilepsy and panic disorders. It can also be taken for restless leg syndrome, acute mania and insomnia.

Allen also suggested specific weapons that would be required for shooting at longer ranges.

The immediate condemnation led to his Facebook account being deleted as well as his employer Upperline Health Pensacola Foot & Ankle Center removing his profile page.

“He has literally destroyed his life and career by making this post,” wrote one Facebook user. “I cannot fathom why anyone would think making a post like this is OK. The amount of hatred and evil in someone’s heart to advocate for political violence is something I will never understand.”

Others suggested Allen should be reported to the state’s licensing board and the American Medical Association.

“This so-called doctor aspires to be famous,” a person wrote. “Let’s give him a hand!”

Two years ago, Allen was named Best Podiatrist in Pensacola, according to a story posted to Upperline Health’s website. It has also been deleted.
