• The 2025 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid and GTS will sit at the top of the Panamera sedan lineup
  • The Turbo S E-Hybrid is a plug-in that’s set a record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife
  • The GTS makes 493 horsepower, while the Turbo S E-Hybrid makes up to 771 horses

Porsche is adding two more Panamera models for 2025, including a plug-in hybrid that will top off the lineup as the most powerful and fastest available so far.

Both models use a bi-turbo V8 that’s already found in the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid. In Canada, the new 2025 Panamera GTS will start at $173,400, while that range-topping 2025 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid begins at $257,000. Both can be ordered now, with deliveries expected to start in the first quarter of 2025.

The 4.0L V8 has been upgraded from a twin-scroll turbocharger to a single-scroll unit. Porsche said this shortens the time required to warm up the catalytic converters, which helps it to meet emissions standards. The eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission has also been redesigned to handle the Turbo S E-Hybrid’s torque.

That number is 737 lb-ft of torque, along with 591 horsepower from the engine and a combined 771 horsepower for the engine/hybrid system working together. Zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 2.9 seconds, en route to a top speed of 325 km/h (201 mph).

This plug-in hybrid (PHEV) uses a 25.9-kWh battery with 11-kW on-board charger. Porsche hasn’t released information on its range but said the new model “drives more efficiently than ever in the fully electric mode.” On July 12, 2024, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid set a record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, completing a 20.832-km lap in 7:24.172 for combustion-engine hybrid sedans, breaking the existing record by 3.62 seconds. Other than a racing seat and safety cage, the car was stock.

The new model will come standard with ceramic composite brakes and Active Ride suspension, along with the bumper and front-end styling unique to the Turbo models, faux-suede Race-Tex headliner, and forged 21-inch Turbo S centre-lock wheels. An available aerokit adds carbon fibre air blades, side skirts, and rear diffuser that optimizes it for track use.

The new Panamera GTS, for Gran Turismo Sport, also uses the upgraded bi-turbo 4.0L V8, tuned here for 493 horsepower. Zero to 100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 302 km (187 mph). The focus here is on handling, with the body lowered by 10 mm (0.3 inches), air suspension, reinforced anti-roll bars, and electronically-controlled differential lock, all of which reduce pitch and roll, and improve stability.

As with Porsche’s other GTS models, this Panamera will have black logos and exterior trim, dark-tinted headlights and taillights, and “Anthracite Grey” 21-inch Turbo S centre-lock wheels. The Race-Tex fabric is used on the headliner, armrests, door panels, and seat inserts. A Bose sound system and Sport Chrono package with stopwatch are standard.

Both models will also offer features from other Panamera models, including Apple CarPlay, an optional passenger screen with video streaming, and a smartphone app that can park the car while the driver is outside of it.
