The sudden deaths of two young people from Co Tyrone have left their communities devastated and shocked.

Both Codey Breadon (15) and Andrea Malone (21) were from around the Fivemiletown area.

Codey passed away suddenly on Friday, July 12.

A death notice has described him as “a cherished and much loved son of Johnny and Nicola, a very special brother of Matthew and Alex and a much loved grandson of Olive (the late Wesley) and Seline (the late Fred)”.

The teenage boy was a pupil at Fivemiletown College.

In a statement, the school said: “It is with heavy hearts that we share of a life too short for one of our pupils. Each one of us has a unique path through life, but for Codey Breadon, just 15, his path was one less worn.

“At times like this we always look back to memories, and we choose to remember Codey, a boy with a smile that could light up a room.

“We remember Codey in Year 8, who came in on Christmas Jumper Day with a prizewinning light-up creation that he and his Aunt Maudie had made! We remember Codey who in Year 10 was voted by his peers to represent them on our Student Council.

“We look back but we also look forward. We will honour to represent Codey’s memory as we seek to nurture resilience and self-care in all our pupils.

“As Codey’s friends stand for his final journey tomorrow, we ask for your prayers for Codey’s family, his friends and our school community.”

Meanwhile, Andrea Malone has been described as “a precious daughter, an adored sister, and an amazing aunt”.

Her funeral notice also noted that she “was a best friend to her loyal companion”, Tess the dog.

Andrea died suddenly on Sunday, July 14.

She previously worked at Beatty’s Spar shop in Fivemiletown.

The staff there said she was “such a beautiful girl, always helpful and kind, a little ray of sunshine that touched everyone she met; she was everyone’s friend and will be very much missed”.

On Facebook, Andrea’s father Alan wrote that he was “heartbroken beyond words”.

“Our precious wee girl.”

Codey’s funeral took place on Tuesday morning, at St John’s Parish Church in Fivemiletown.

A service for the life of Andrea will take place in Lakelands Crematorium on Thursday at 1.00pm, where everyone is welcome to attend.

She is survived by her parents, Alan and Roberta, two sisters, Rachel and Kathryn, and her niece, Florence, as well as her wider family circle.
