Amazon isn’t just handing out a free QLED television from Hisense, it’s also dishing out a free Echo Pop smart speaker.

The giveaway is available when you add a Ring Video Doorbell to your shopping basket. Better still, Amazon has cut the cost of this clever home security gadget in half — dropping the price from £99.99 to £49.99. That matches the previous record low price tag from Black Friday last year.

But now you’ll be treated to an Echo Pop speaker worth £44.99 for free.

This popular speaker has a sleek semi-circular design with AI assistant Alexa built-in to set cooking timers, schedule calendar appointments, answer general knowledge questions, make calls to other Echo owners, and queue-up songs and podcasts from Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and more. Echo Pop also doubles up as a Wi-Fi extender if you have an Eero router, extending your wireless coverage throughout your home.

With a Ring Video Doorbell, you’ll get notifications to your phone, tablet, or any Amazon Echo speakers around your home when someone is at your door

When paired with your Ring Doorbell, you’ll be able to hear a chime from the Echo Pop when someone is at the door. You can also use the far-field microphone array and speaker to have a two-way conversation with someone at the door if you’re unable to get there.

The Ring Video Doorbell in this bundle arrives in Venetian Bronze. This wireless tech-packed doorbell is capable of transmitting 1080p HD video from the outside of your home, so you can keep an eye on parcels or talk to people at the door from anywhere in the world. Amazon has also equipped the camera with Night Vision so that you can see, hear, and speak to anyone from your phone, tablet, or Fire TV at all times of the day.

Motion detection from the wide 155-degree field of view will keep you in the loop about what’s happening. Although, it’s worth noting that you’ll need a monthly subscription to unlock some of the features available with the Ring hardware.

The Echo Pop giveaway is just one of thousands of blockbuster deals included in the Prime Day sale. As always with this annual site-wide sale, you’ll need to be a Prime member to be able to access any of these deals. Without Prime membership, you’ll be stuck paying the full RRP for items that’ve been discounted in the sale. You’ll also lose out on next-day delivery at no extra cost on thousands of items.

But becoming an Amazon Prime member doesn’t have to cost you anything.

That’s because the US shopping giant offers a 30-day free trial of its membership scheme. Sign up, then cancel immediately and you’ll still be able to enjoy all of the perks of Prime membership for a month.

If you don’t cancel, you’ll be charged the usual £8.99 per month fee at the end of the free trial period. We’ve written an in-depth guide on this loyalty scheme to work out “is Amazon Prime worth it in 2024“.
