Thousands of people throughout Northern Ireland will be taking time off tomorrow to enjoy the annual Twelfth celebrations.

Due to the bank holiday there will be some disruption to council services.

Here is what you need to know about changes to refuse collection days and opening hours for recycling centres over the July holiday period.

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council

Bin and wheelie box collections in Newtownabbey due to take place on Friday 12 July will be emptied on Saturday 13 July. There are no changes to collections in Antrim. All other collections will take place as normal.

All household recycling centres will be closed on Friday 12 July and reopen as normal on Saturday 13 July.

Ards & North Down Borough Council

There will be no change to kerbside collections services during the month of July.

Waste containers will be collected on your normal collection days over the July bank holidays. Please make sure your container is set out for collection on the appropriate day by 7:00am.

All recycling centres will be closed on Friday 12 July with normal operating hours from Saturday 13 July.

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council

Bin collections took place on Saturday 6 July.

Recycling centres closed on 12 July. Open as normal from Monday 15 July.

Belfast City Council

Friday 12 July collections will be completed on Saturday 13 July. Please leave your bin or boxes out by 7am. If your bin is not collected, please leave it out on Sunday 14 July.

All household recycling centres will be closed on Friday 12 July and reopen as normal on Saturday 13 July.

Causeway Coast and Glens Council

In Ballymoney and Coleraine areas, bin collections scheduled for Friday 12 July will take place on Sunday 14 July. If anyone has a concern about their bin collection on Sunday, please contact your local depot.

All household recycling centres will be closed on Friday 12 July and reopen as normal on Saturday 13 July.

Derry City & Strabane District Council

Bins collection services will operate as normal.

All recycling centres with the exception of the Newtownstewart facility will be open as normal.

Fermanagh & Omagh District Council

Bin collection service will operate as normal on Friday 12 and Monday 15 July.

All recycling centres will be closed on Friday 12 July 2024. Recycling centre opening hours on Monday 15 July 2024 are as follows:

  • Gortrush Civic Amenity Site, Omagh, 9.00am-4.45pm
  • Belleek Recycling Centre, 10.00am – 5.45pm
  • Carrickmore, Dromore and Fintona Recycling Centres, 11.00am – 3.45pm
  • Drummee Recycling Centre, Enniskillen 9.00am – 4.45pm
  • Garrison Recycling Centre, CLOSED
  • Irvinestown, Lisnaskea, Kinawley and Tempo Recycling Centres, 10.00 am – 5.45 pm
  • Kesh, Lisbellaw, Newtownbutler and Rosslea Recycling Centres, 10.00 am – 5.45 pm

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council

Waste due to be collected on Friday July 12 will be collected on Monday 15 July, while waste due to be collected on Monday 15 July will be collected Saturday 20 July.

All recycling centres closed on Friday 12 July. Will open on Monday 15 July, 9am – 3pm.

Mid & East Antrim Borough Council

No bin collections on Friday 12 July. Alternate dates will be:

  • Ballymena: Saturday 13 July
  • Carrickfergus: Saturday 6 July
  • Larne: Monday 15 July

All household recycling centre will be closed on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 July, reopening on Monday 15 July.

Mid Ulster Council

There will be no bin collections on Friday 12 July. Bins due to be collected on Friday 12 July will instead be collected on Saturday 13 July.

All household recycling centres will be closed on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 July, reopening on Monday 15 July.

Newry, Mourne & Down District Council

Friday 12 July bin collections will be completed on Saturday 13 July.

All household recycling centres will be closed on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 July, reopening on Monday 15 July.
