Gareth Southgate shouted at England fans in celebration after their 2-1 win over the Netherlands on Wednesday night.

The Three Lions have booked their place in the final of Euro 2024 after a dramatic victory in Dortmund, with Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins scoring after an early goal from Xavi Simons.

Southgate has faced plenty of criticism at the tournament so far.

He infamously had cups thrown in his direction after England’s 1-1 draw with Denmark last month, with the 53-year-old having to contend with a tidal wave of negativity.

After England’s dramatic late win over the Netherlands, however, the 53-year-old was jubilant.

Southgate was visibly emotional, with the England boss roaring in celebration as they set up a mouthwatering final clash with Spain.

ITV captured footage of Southgate shouting ‘one more’ in the direction of England fans after the remarkable triumph.

Though the Three Lions have been inconsistent at this year’s European Championships, they’re now just 90 minutes away from a first major trophy since 1966.

Southgate clearly knows the job is only half done.

Today (Thursday) marks three years since England lost to Italy in the final of Euro 2020.

But they’re now on the brink of avenging that defeat and banishing the demons of that fateful night.

Southgate was asked how it felt to celebrate with England fans after their win, having suffered constant criticism throughout the competition.

And the former Middlesbrough boss admitted he was delighted to give supporters something to smile and cheer about.

“We all want to be loved, right?” he said.

“When you are doing something for your country and you are a proud Englishman and when you don’t feel that back and get all the criticism it is hard.

“To be able to celebrate a second final is very special.

“The travelling fans have been amazing. To be able to give them nights like this, and I think we have given them a few over the last six years, it means a lot.

“If I hadn’t been on the grass I’d have been celebrating and watching like they were.

“We are kindred spirits in many ways but I am the one who has to pick the team. To give them a night like tonight is very special.”

He added: “I hope they [the supporters] are enjoying a few beers!

“We have had some incredible nights the last seven or eight years. These games have been dramatic because the goals have come so late.

“The only reason I took the job on was to try and bring success to the nation and improve English football.

“I am immensely proud to take this team to a final overseas. It will be a huge task but we are still here and fighting.”

Spain will be England’s toughest test yet, however.

La Roja have been in fine form during the tournament and booked their place in the final with a 2-1 victory over France on Tuesday night.

Randal Kolo Muani put Les Bleus ahead early on, only for goals from Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo to turn the match around.
