Emergency services are currently at the scene after an aircraft was forced to land in a field in Co Down.

It’s understood the aircraft had to land in a field in the Portaferry area on the Ards Peninsula.

In a statement, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service confirmed they were dispatched to the team alongside the air ambulance.

A spokesperson said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 12:00 on Thursday 11th July following reports of an incident in the Abbacy Road area, Portaferry.

“NIAS despatched two Ambulance Officers to the incident. The Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board was also tasked to attend.

“Following initial assessment and treatment, no one was taken from scene.”

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service are also at the scene.
