Working from home can have a host of benefits – not least the fact you can be hidden from view. Not having to dress in a smart suit or other clothing can be a blessing which means you can often fall out of bed into “the office” without either showering or having to commute.

But hundreds of home workers have admitted to having a gross habit about exactly where they are when they are in an online meeting at work. More than one in 10 people quizzed in a survey said they sat on the toilet during the chats with colleagues.

Bathroom wall panel specialists, National Plastics, looked at YouGov surveys to find four of the most common quirks that people own up to. And it found one in five have a “gross bathroom habit”.

The top four habits people admit to include drinking water straight from the bathroom tap with one in three owning up to it. One if four admitted brushing their teeth just once a day – half the amount of time recommended – while almost one in 10 admitted to taking snacks or meals into the bathroom.

Harnik Bolla, Marketing Manager at National Plastics says, “Many of us cultivate our ‘public face’ in front of the mirror, so it makes sense that the bathroom is where it drops too. Our bathrooms are a sanctuary within our homes where we can hide away from the world and simply be us (even for a short time)”.
